Jennifer Lopez will star in a new literary adaptation, Kate Winslet makes her directorial debut, and John Cena and Eric Andre team up for a Netflix comedy

The Last Mrs. Parrish (Netflix)

Jennifer Lopez, whose recent film output has included the romantic comedy Marry Me and sci-fi thriller Atlas, will team up with legendary director Robert Zemeckis (Forrest Gump, Castaway) for an adaptation of Liv Constantine’s best-selling 2021 novel The Last Mrs. Parrish. The psychological thriller centers on a twisted con-artist who targets a wealthy couple — the Parrishes — as her next victims. She infiltrates the pair by befriending the wife and seducing the husband, with the master plan of becoming the next Mrs. Parrish, only to discover that the wife’s life is far more complicated than she could have imagined. Andrea Berloff (previous Lopez Netflix vehicle The Mother) and John Gatins (Zemeckis’ Flight) are writing the screenplay, with filming scheduled to commence in Bishops Harbour, Connecticut on May 19.

Goodbye June (Netflix)

Kate Winslet will make her feature film directorial debut with Goodbye June, a present-day drama set in England and written by her son Joe Anders. The film’s official logline describes it as “a touching, yet humorous story which sees a fractured group of siblings pull together under sudden and trying circumstances.” Besides Winslet, the Netflix production will star Toni Collette (Mickey 17), Johnny Flynn (Ripley) and Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie), with filming scheduled to commence in London in early December.

Little Brother (Netflix)

John Cena (The Suicide Squad, Barbie) and Eric Andre (Trolls Band TogetherThe Eric Andre Show) are set to co-star in a new Netflix comedy. According to the logline, “a successful real estate agent’s meticulously organized life is thrown into chaos when his eccentric younger brother unexpectedly reenters his world.” The project will be the feature directorial debut for Matt Spicer, whose previous production credits include Ingrid Goes West and It’s Not You It’s Me, and written by Jarrad Paul and Andrew Mogel (The D Team). Filming is scheduled to begin in Los Angeles on June 2.
