A horror feature is underway in Portland, Tulsa King is bringing its fifth season to New York, and Hulu is developing a new thriller set in Tennessee. Each project highlights a different opportunity for its filming destination, from regional crews and locations to a major series relocating production to match its story.
Tickle Monster
Portland, Oregon, is hosting production on Tickle Monster, a horror feature from Track 7 Films, Image Nation Abu Dhabi and Vertigo Entertainment. Written and directed by Adam and Daniel Cooper, the film follows a depressed teenager who becomes infected with a horrifying entity after an encounter with her father. The infection compels her to spread joy by tickling others—with disturbing consequences. Steven Schneider, James Harris, Aaron Folbe, Roy Lee and Trevor Engelson are among the producers and executive producers.
The production is scheduled to shoot in Portland from October through December 2026. For Oregon’s film community, the project brings work to the region during the fall and early winter, with potential opportunities for local crew, vendors and background performers as production continues. Oregon’s incentive programs can offer qualifying productions rebates on in-state goods, services and payroll, although participation by Tickle Monster has not been confirmed. The state’s mix of urban neighborhoods, wooded landscapes and varied architecture also offers filmmakers flexibility when creating unsettling environments without relying exclusively on studio sets.
Tulsa King – Season 5
Tulsa King is heading to New York City for its fifth season, marking a major production-location shift for the Paramount+ crime drama. The series, created by Taylor Sheridan and starring Sylvester Stallone as mobster Dwight “The General” Manfredi, previously filmed in Atlanta, with its story centered on Dwight building a criminal operation in Oklahoma. The new season will bring the character back to his New York mafia roots, and production began in the city on October 5. Paramount+ announced the fifth-season renewal ahead of Season 4’s October 16 premiere.
The move offers New York an opportunity to capture more of the series’ production spending and showcase its neighborhoods as an authentic backdrop for a story rooted in the city’s organized-crime history. Scarlet Rose Stallone has been promoted to series regular, while Erik Palladino, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Skordi and Nickola Shreli are joining the main cast. Terence Winter returns as head writer and executive producer, alongside Sheridan and Stallone. The production also underscores the competition among states for returning television business: Paramount Television Studios has praised its work in Georgia while confirming that the New York move aligns with the new storyline.
