Samuel L. Jackson stars in Tulsa King spinoff, Seth Rogen and Anna Kendrick become unexpected parents in Babies, and Wednesday confirms third season filming locations
Nola King (Paramount+)
Tulsa King, the popular Paramount+ series starring Sylvester Stallone, will receive a sequel series starring screen legend Samuel L. Jackson (The Piano Lesson, the Avengers film series). Jackson will lead the series as Russell Lee Washington Jr., who has a history in the crime world and will first appear as an adversary for Stallone’s Dwight Manfredi character in season 3 of Tulsa King before taking over a crime syndicate in Louisiana. As with its parent series, Taylor Sheridan will executive produce and oversee the writing process, with Dave Erickson (who previously wrote for the Sheridan-produced Mayor of Kingstown) showrunning. Filming is expected to begin on-location in New Orleans in early February.
Babies (AGC Studios)
Seth Rogen (The Studio, Platonic) and Anna Kendrick (Woman of the Hour, the Pitch Perfect franchise) will co-star as unexpected parents in a project from writer-director Lauren Miller Rogen (Like Father). According to press materials, “Struggling with the decision of whether or not to bring a child into the world, Annie (Kendrick) and her husband Aaron (Rogen) become instant co-parents when their newly-divorced friend moves into their home with her 3-year-old.” AGC Studios and Monarch Media are set to co-finance and produce the Los Angeles-set contemporary comedy drama with producer Lylas Pictures, with filming scheduled for the Los Angeles area in early November.
Wednesday, Season 3 (Netflix)
The hit Netflix reimagining of The Addams Family starring Jenna Ortega will begin filming its third season in Wicklow, Ireland this April. Co-creators and co-showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are leading the storytelling charge, promising to deepen Wednesday Addams’ journey and further unravel the dark mysteries of Nevermore Academy and the Addams family legacy.
