Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone
Prime Video’s new murder-mystery series could put Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom in the spotlight. Based on Benjamin Stevenson’s bestselling novel, Everyone in My Family Has Killed Someone stars Penn Badgley as mystery writer Ernest “Ern” Cunningham, who returns to a family reunion in the mountains only to find himself surrounded by a frozen body, a snowstorm and plenty of deadly secrets.
For Vermont, the project offers an opportunity to showcase a landscape that can play a central role in the story rather than simply serve as a backdrop. The Northeast Kingdom’s mountains, rural setting and winter conditions are integral to the premise, making the region particularly well suited to the series’ isolated, snowbound atmosphere.
