Jeremy Allen White will play Bruce Springsteen, a Freaky Friday reunion is in the works, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson will star in a bank heist thriller from David Mackenzie

Deliver Me From Nowhere (20th Century Studios)

Jeremy Allen White (The Bear, Shameless) is set to play iconic rock star Bruce Springsteen in a new biopic focused on the creation of critically acclaimed 1982 album Nebraska. A departure from his previous anthemic work, the album was a stark and recorded by Springsteen alone in his bedroom using basic equipment. The movie will be directed by Scott Cooper (The Pale Blue Eye, Antlers) and overseen by David Greenbaum, who recently took over Disney live-action films and 20th Century Studios from his previous role at Searchlight. Filming is set to begin in the Boss’ home state of New Jersey on late September.

Freaky Friday 2 (Walt Disney Studios)

Nisha Ganatra, who most recently helmed episodes of Hulu miniseries Welcome to Chippendales, will direct a sequel to the hit 2003 body-swap comedy starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. In an updated twist on the original film, Anna (Lohan) struggles to connect with her 14-year-old daughter, Harper, who isn’t thrilled about her mom’s upcoming marriage to British restaurateur Eric Davies. Harper hatches a plan for role-reversal involving herself, Anna and Tess (Curtis). The original leads are returning, and Andrew Gunn, who produced the 2003 movie, is producing along with former Disney exec Kristin Burr. Black List screenwriter Elyse Hollander is helming the script, with filming set to begin around Los Angeles in late September.

Fuze (Anton)

Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Tenet, Bullet Train) is reuniting with Outlaw King director David Mackenzie for Fuze. The film involves the discovery of an unexploded World War II bomb at a London construction site that sparks a mass evacuation as bomb disposal experts descend to defuse it, but also allows the perfect distraction for a bank heist. Mackenzie directed the Oscar-nominated Hell or High Water and prison drama Starred Up, and European production group Anton will produce, finance and sell the film to international markets. Filming will begin in London on June 3.
