Bridgerton‘s Regé-Jean Page headlines new thriller set in Italy, Lindsay Lohan stars and produces in Hulu miniseries, and Barry Keoghan signs on to new film from Emilia Perez producer

Italianna (Universal Pictures)

Regé-Jean Page (Bridgerton, Black Box) and Halle Bailey (The Little Mermaid, The Color Purple) are set to star in what is being called “a stylish and modern twist on classic romance-thrillers, combining European elegance with contemporary storytelling.” Directed by Kat Coiro (Marry Me, CBS’ Matlock reboot) and written by Ryan Engle (Rampage, Beast), the project will be overseen by Will Packer Productions, which has created numerous hits that include Girls Trip and Ride Along. Filming is scheduled to commence on-location throughout Italy and Los Angeles beginning in early June.

Count My Lies (Hulu)

Lindsay Lohan, whose post-comeback filmography includes streaming hits like Irish Wish and Falling for Christmas, will produce and star in a new Hulu series from the creators or This Is Us. The project will follow Sloane Caraway, a compulsive liar who secures a nanny position with the enigmatic Violet and Jay Lockhart. As she becomes entwined in their lives, Sloane uncovers a web of secrets that threaten to unravel everything. In addition to co-starring as Violet Lockhart, Lohan will serve as executive producer alongside This Is Us writers Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger. Shooting will commence in Los Angeles on June 3.

Butterfly Jam (AR Content)

Barry Keoghan​ (Saltburn, The Banshees of Inisherin) and Riley Keough (Daisy Jones & the Six) will co-star in a new drama from Russian director Kantemir Balagov. Set in a tight-knit New Jersey community of Kabardian immigrants, the movie will portray a complicated relationship between a father and son, in which the son imbues his father with qualities he doesn’t actually possess. Pascal Caucheteux’s Why Not Productions, which produced the Oscar-winning Emilia Perez, is joining Alexander Rodnyansky’s AR Content to produce the film, which will be financed by AR Content. Filming is scheduled to begin in Jersey City and Paris, France beginning on September 15.
